P-T Path Program

I have been using the P-T path program of  Moynihan and Pattison (2013, JMG 31 525-548) for a few years and have a version for Windows 7 that I have been giving to anyone who asks.  If you would also like to try the program, just send me an email .  I have made several modifications to suit my own n...

Dataset with Ti and Fe3+

For the Holland and Powell (1998) dataset, you might try Doug Tinkham's metapelite version (here), which contains Ti phases and explicitly deals with Fe3+ (F3 in his dataset).  It is also well organized and documented!

Re: updated databases

Also, does any one know of efforts to update the TD database with new thermodynamic data as it becomes avalible? This is a big job and one that that the thermocalc community seems to do well. Although any of us can alter the databases, I fear that this could lead to apples and oranges situations wh...

Re: Calculate balanced continuous reaction

Frank: Thanks for the comprehensive response. Following Sina's comment, a pixel map could be useful if many determinations need to be made.  However, along a P-T path, a loop/drive file would probably be faster.  And of course for just two points, simply running theriak at each point would be fastes...

Re: Run TD from working folder on Windows 10

I double-checked the path a couple of times so I don't think it's that. My start.bat file is located in the working folder and is the same file I use on the Windows 7 computer: Title TD1 set THERDOM=C:\TheriakDominoWIN\Programs set PATH=%THERDOM%;%path% cmd I also tried adding the working folder: Ti...

Re: Multiple task for Domino

Good point and thanks for including those links. In fact, I normally combine these ideas and run several batch scripts on multiple processors, each running a model for a different rock. My batch file (domjob) includes everything I like to see in the diagram, including assemblage fields, garnet isopl...

Re: Multiple task for Domino

I like to simply duplicate folders, like you mention in your post.  I make several copies of the Working folder, limiting the number of folders to the number of processors on the computer (I'm using Windows, but Unix users should be able to make more copies if they are on a Unix cluster).  Using sev...

Calculate balanced continuous reaction

Domino can output the stoichiometry of a balanced discontinuous reaction (option 3 for reaction labels), but not a continuous reaction. One way to estimate stoichiometry is to run theriak at two P-T points and take the difference in moles (normalized to your favorite phase). However, this is depende...

Run TD from working folder on Windows 10

Normally, I run Theriak-Domino (TD) as suggested in the guide by working in the Working folder and leaving the programs in the Progams folder. However, in Windows 10 with the new Command Prompt, TD seems to only be able to access files within the Programs folder. When I run start.bat from within the...
